Imphal: Manipur Police has rescued two persons from kidnappers happened to be members of KCP (PWG) militant group, on Friday evening.

The duo were rescued when teams of Imphal East unit commandos conducted a random mobile frisking and checking to the suspected passersby at  Kshetrigao Yuamkhaibam Leirak and its surrounding areas.

They were Irom Anand Singh, 24, son of I. Kujakishore Singh and Ngangom Rohit Singh, 24, son of Ng. Ibomcha Singh. Both of of them belonged to Kongpal, Imphal East District.

Six active members of the outfit KCP (PWG) namely, Chingakham Sanajaoba Singh, 23, son of late Ch. Ojit Singh of Mayang Langjing Tamang, Imphal West; Soibam Sital Singh, 24, son of S. Subash Singh of Lamlai Mayai Leikai, Imphal East; Maibam Naresh Singh, 24, son of M. Heramani Singh of Senjam Khunou, Sekmai-PS, Imphal-West; Ningthoujam Ajit Singh, 26, son of N. Jiten Singh of Yaingangpokpi, Imphal East;  Chingsubam Thounagamba Meitei, 30, son of Ch. Bobo Meitei of Pukhao Shantipur, Imphal East; and Wahengbam Premjit Singh, 40, son of late W. Tomcha Singh of Kanglatombi Bazar Board, Sekmai PS, Imphal West (A/P – Yurembam, Patsoi PS), Imphal West were arrested from Kshetrigao Yumkhaibam Leirak, Imphal East, a police report said.

The police seized one Maruti Suzuki van, one scooter (Honda Maestro) and five mobile phones from their possessions.

The arrestees are presently working under the command of one Ibomcha Singh alias SK of KCP (PWG).

The two rescued persons namely; Irom Anand Singh and Ngangom Rohit Singh were kidnapped from Thambalkhong Sabal Leikai, Imphal East by the above arrested six active members of KCP (PWG), the report said.
