Imphal: Additional chief secretary (Forest, Environment and Climate Change), Manipur, MH Khan has assured that he will try to reach ministry of Jal Shakti and ministry of Forest and Environment to get more funds for river rejuvenation and to improve biological diversity of Manipur.
Khan was speaking at the International Day for Biological Diversity observation held at the state Botanical Garden, Khonghampat (Laikon), Imphal West, on Wednesday.
The observation was conducted under the theme “Be part of the plan”.
Khan said as compared to the past decades the biological diversity of Manipur is getting better. Mass awareness is needed to the public.
In the last few years community ponds are decreasing and preservation of Loktak lake is needed as it is also a part of biological diversity, he added.
As a part of the function 10 media fellows who were selected for 5th Manipur State Level Media Fellowship in Climate Change Reporting during 2024-25 were awarded official letters from the dais members.
