Imphal: As a part of a drive conducted by Koireng led UNLF against sex racket, the outfit has shot renowned make-up artist and fashion designer, Laishram Kumarjit on his leg as warning on Saturday.
Laishram Kumarjit, 32, son of L. Sarat of Takyel Khongbal Maning Leikai, Imphal West is a trans-gender and was shot at his left calf by the outfit for being a pimp.
The fashion designer was produced in front of media by the outfit before he was shot in a place located at Bishnupur district on Friday night.
Spokesperson of the outfit, Pibarel Angomcha told the media that the outfit has been contributing for the welfare of the society and, safeguarding the women of Manipur with regards.
Koireng led UNLF strongly condemned and disappointed that some people are using women as ‘toy’. He disclosed that the outfit apprehended Kumarjit for involving in sex racket at high level as well as for being a pimp. Kumarjit will be given appropriate punishment by the outfit, he added.
Besides, Kumarjit also accepted the charge for which he was apprehended by the outfit.
Kumarjit was found near Khumbong PHC under Patsoi police station with a bullet injury on his left calf.
He was rushed to nearby hospital for treatment.
Earlier, the outfit also shot a ‘madam’ on her left calf and announced that the outfit will investigate on sex rackets business in Manipur. The outfit also announced that there is a strong suspicion of involvement of ministers, MLAs and other bureaucrats.
Similar suspicion was also made by Nupi Samaj while the women organisation produce a ‘pimp’ to media which was apprehended by village volunteers of Kadangband.
In a video that went viral Kumarjit mentioned names of minister Khemchand, minister Biswajit, MLA Rameshwor, Education director Nanda and a contractor from Moirangkhom (mentioned as yambung).
