Imphal: The Joint Students’ Coordination Committee (JSCC), Manipur demands the government to declare a special package for the internally displaced students of pre-primary, primary, high school and higher secondary.
A statement released by JSCC mentioned that the students of this state, the future pillars who are taking shelter in the relief camps, cannot get schooling through focusing. They need complete concentration on their studies. There is shortage of education facilities. The future of these students are unpredictable.
“The total number of students enrolment of all districts in Manipur who are settling in 293 relief camps for the academic session 2024-25 is 11,631.”
JSCC drew the government’s attention to look deeply at the overall conditions of students at relief camps besides the inspection done by the concerned government departments.
The conglomerate committee of four student bodies distributed materials like textbooks, pens, pencils, notebooks, school bags, erasers and other education amenities which are essential in students’ schooling in the relief camps established at the Phubala High School, Sunushiphai and Mangolnganbi college of Bishnupur district.
Such activities of distributing educational materials will be continued further in the remaining relief camps of different districts in the interest of the people and students, especially those who are seriously affected students by the ongoing crisis.
