Arms, drugs recovered

Imphal: Security forces have recovered arms and ammunition from Wangoo area of Bishnupur district on Friday in continuation of search operations and area domination in the fringe and vulnerable areas of crisis ridden Manipur.

Manipur Police also arrested three drug smugglers from Imphal West on the same day.

The recovered items by the security forces were one 5.56 mm Insas LMG with magazine, one 5.56 mm Insas rifle with magazine, 50 live round ammunitions.

The arrested drug smugglers were identified as Md. Warish Khan, 35, Md Akbar, 36, and Md. Wahid, 22. They were arrested from Sekmai area.

Fifty black plastic pouches containing suspected WY tablets weighing 0.992 Kg , three mobile handsets, two wallets containing Rs 19,620 and one truck were recovered from their possession.
