Arms, ammunition recovered

Imphal: Assam Rifles and Manipur Police Commandos recovered arms and ammunition on Wednesday from Thoubal district of Manipur.

Acting on specific intelligence of presence of arms and ammunition in general area Phoiyebi in Thoubal district, Manipur, Assam Rifles and Manipur Police Commandos launched a joint operation on Wednesday and recovered one 5.56mm MA-3 Aslt Rifle (Burmese), two mortar Bombs, one RPG Shell, three Grenades, ammunition and war like stores, the Assam Rifles said.

The recovered items have been handed over to Manipur Police, it added.
