Imphal: A combined team of Thoubal Police and 33 Assam Rifles caught red handed four cadres of KCP (PWG) from Yairipok Bazar along with arms and ammunitions while extorting money.
The militants were identified as one Sinam Bijen alias Mangang Meetei, 38, son of S. Joy of Ingourok Awang Leikai, Thoubal; Angom Ingo alias Apa Singh, 53, son of late A. Kula Singh of Nongpok Sekmai Ward No. 3, Thoubal; Warepam Jayenta Singh, 36, son of late W. Ibomcha Singh of Khamaran Makha Leikai, Imphal West and Oinam Naocha alias Max Singh, 24, son of O. Biren Singh of Modangpok Khunjao Awang Leikai, Imphal West.
They disclosed that they are active members of the outfit.
Five mobile handsets; two 9mm pistols with 15 live rounds; five demand letters of the outfit; two rounds of 5.56 mm ammunitions; four rounds of 7.62 mm ammunitions and one white A- Star car were seized from their possession.
A case has been registered at concerned police station for further necessary action.
