Imphal: Manipur Police arrested 10 accused persons in connection with the murder of a youth, Moinam Md. Tomba, 20, son of Md. Nasimuddin of Keibung Mathak Leikai, Thoubal district, on Wednesday.
The arrested persons were identified as Salman Khurshid, 29, Md. Manjur, 39, Hawaibam Chester, 29, Sinam Aimsum, 28, V. Oinam Leonando Meite, 25, Md. Majibur, 19, Elangbam Gobin Singh, 33, Yangkhubam Rajia, 22, Md. Azam Khan, 32, and Silvia, 19.
“All-out efforts are being made to arrest other accused persons involved in the case.
Investigation continues,” Manipur Police Control Room said.
On this day, Manipur Police arrested an individual identified as Laishram Rajeshor Singh of Imphal East from Sanakeithel, Imphal West for illegal possession of firearms. From his possession one magazine loaded with three live ammunitions, one mobile handset, one Aadhaar card.
Manipur Police also arrested three individuals identified as Rukshana, 25, Rabina, 48, and Md. Sabir Khan, 30, from Nambol Maibam Chingmang, Bishnupur district for possession of 13 soap cases containing suspected heroin powder, one four-wheeler vehicle was also seized.
It congratulated Manipur Women’s football team as emerged as the winners of the 28th Senior Women’s National Championship for Rajmata Jijabai Trophy by defeating Haryana 2-0.
The state police also congratulated the Manipur Women’s Football team and expressed immense proudness of its players staff in the Manipur women’s football team.
