Miscreants attempt to damage power grid

Imphal: Unknown miscreants tried to damage 400 KV power grid line (Silchar to Imphal) at Kotlen, Kangpokpi district using explosives on Thursday.

The incident occurred at around 3.30pm at the area which falls unde the jurisdiction of Keithelmanbi police station.

As per the officials of power department, the power grid line of Power Grid Corporation of India is connected with Yurembam power sub-station and the power is distributed in Imphal valley. Damage of the said power grid will not affect Imphal valley.

During the incident the electric poles were seen partially damaged.

The officials said a complaint has been registered at Keithelmanbi police station and emergency restoration team of Power Grid Corporation of India will fix the issue at the earliest.
