Imphal: Search operations and area domination were conducted by security forces in the fringe and vulnerable areas of hill and valley districts of Manipur on Friday.
During the search operations one improvised mortar launcher, three mortar explosives (bomb), three primary cartridges were recovered from Kangpokpi district.
One point 38 pistol with magazine, 10 improvised explosive devices (country made), three No.36 hand grenades, 85 rounds of 7.62×33 mm carbine machine ammunition, ten 7.62x39mm AK live ammunition, two point 38 pistol ammunition were recovered from Tengnoupal district.
During the last 24 hours, the situation in the state was tense with congregation of protestors at several locations but under control, Manipur Police Control Room said.
It appeals to public to return the ‘looted arms, ammunition and explosives’ to the police or nearest security forces immediately.
