Centre, state should priotize on peace: Shiv Sena

Imphal: Shiv Sena Manipur State Unit demanded unconditional release of three cadres of Pambei led UNLF and urged both central and state government to prioritize in bringing back peace in Manipur before election.

State president, Shiv Sena Manipur State Unit, M. Tombi told reporters at its state party head office, here on Thursday that the party strongly condemn taking the cadres of Pambei led UNLF in NIA custody as the outfit has recently signed a tripartite peace agreement.

He said with series of talks the outfit signed the peace agreement with both the government at Delhi on November 29 last year. By sidelining the previous chapter the outfit started a new chapter. However, apprehending them inconnection with a previous case before signing the peace agreement is highly condemnable, said Tombi.

After signing the tripartite peace agreement, state government even welcome the cadres of the outfit at the historic site of Kangla. Why the central government arrested the 3 cadres? He questioned.

Chief minister N. Biren Singh should convince central government to release the three cadres unconditionally, said Tombi.

Politicians should stop playing cheap politics by using the present conflict as a tool. Thry should instead focus on saving Manipur, he added.
