Imphal: A joint column of Assam Rifles and Manipur Police launched a search operation on Friday and recovered huge cache of arms, explosives and War like stores.
A total of 17 weapons, ammunition, explosives and war like stores were recovered during the operation which included one 7.62 mm SLR Rifle, one 9mm Pistol, ten Single Barrel Rifles, five improvised mortars, grenades and ammunition, the Assam Rifles said on Saturday.
The recovered items have been handed over to Manipur Police, it added.
The police and the Assam Rifles also recovered one 7.62mm SLR Rifle, fourteen grenades, one 9 MM Pistol, ammunition and other war like stores from general area Sajirok in Imphal West. The recovered items were handed over to the police, it said.
