One injured in gun-fight at Tangsang hill range

Imphal: One voluntary village defender was injured in a gun-fight that has been taking place at Tangsang hill range under Sagolmang police station.

The fire exchange took place since Sunday. The volunteer sustained bullet injury on Monday.

Tangsang hill range is located at the border area of Imphal East and Kangpokpi district.

It has been reported that the gunfight started from Sunday at around 10 pm between suspected Kuki militants and village defence volunteers of the area.

Police said some rounds of firing were heard at Tangsang Hill range under the jurisdiction of Sagolmang police station.

During the incident one village defence volunteer was shot on his left upper chest. He was evacuated to Raj Medicity.

Hospital authority reported that the injured was out of danger and operation will be conducted on Tuesday.

Sources reported that exchange of firing was going on till the filing of this report.
