Medilane Eye Care decries gun threat

Imphal: Medilane Eye Care, Palace Compound, Imphal staged protest on Friday decrying gun attack at the eye care center by two unidentified persons on Thursday afternoon.
Assistant general manager of Medilane, Jacob Khaidem, told reporters that as per CCTV footage two unidentified persons came on a scooter (Activa) and shot one round at the eye care in brought daylight.
He said the bullet hit the glass pane of the door while one of the staff was sitting near the door. However, no causality was occurred.
The unknown persons wear face mask and they covered the registration plates, he added.
Jacob said since years the Medilane company has been providing free ambulance service to the people. Since the beginning of violence on May 3 last year, the Medilane ambulance has been serving at various tense places including those at firing took place.
In the past, neither any individual nor groups has demanded for monetary assistance and there has been any misunderstanding with anyone. The company strongly condemns the firing in congested area as it could hurt innocent people, he added.
Those miscreants should clarify, he said and appealed the state government and authority concerned to book the culprits involved in the threat.
