Imphal: Chief minister N. Biren Singh has met Home minister Amit Shah and officials of Home ministry, discussed on Manipur issue.
“Today, I had the esteemed privilege of meeting with the Hon’ble Union Home Minister, Shri Amit Shah Ji in New Delhi. Engaging in a profound exchange, we discussed matters of paramount importance concerning our state,” Biren posted on his Facebook wall on Saturday.
“Rest assured, the Government of India is set to take some important decisions in the interests of the people of Manipur,” he said.
In another post, the chief minister said “Post-meeting with Hon’ble Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah Ji, I convened with senior officials of the Ministry of Home Affairs at the North Block, New Delhi. Held a productive discussion on the strategic measures undertaken for fostering peace in Manipur.”
Manipur has been on turmoil since the Kuki militants began to attack Manipur valley on May 3 last.
People has been demanding to solve the issue to retain peace in the state.
The chief minister and his Meitei colleagues in Manipur Legislative Assembly were served a 15 days ultimatum by a people’s forcce on January 24 to bring a solution with response from the Centre to end the issue.
People have been voicing against the silence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the issue that witnesses killings and fleeing of people homeless.
