Guv calls for collective effort to resolve Manipur crisis

Imphal: Manipur governor Anusuiya Uikey appeals all to together try to resolve the present ethnic clash issue collectively to bring normalcy to maintain the tradition of peaceful co-existence.

“I extend my heartiest greetings to the people of Manipur and wish a very Happy New Year. 2024. New Year Day is for making new resolutions,” Uikey said in her message.

“As we enter 2024, let us all resolve to work together for creating harmony and perfect peace in all parts of Manipur during the coming year. Unfortunately, Manipur has been passing through a difficult situation for the last more than seven months due to an unprecedented ethnic clash that broke out on May 30, 2023. Let us all try to resolve this issue collectively to bring normalcy to maintain our age-old tradition of peaceful co-existence.”

“I join the people of Manipur in celebrating New Year Day 2024 and hope that the coming year will be much better and more prosperous as compared to all the previous years.”

“On this auspicious occasion, let us re-dedicate ourselves to uphold and promote the secular, socialist and democratic values enshrined in our Constitution and work collectively to make our country great,” the governor said.
