Imphal: Women bodies strongly condemn lodging FIR against 12 Meira Paibi of Wangoo Sagang, Bishnupur district, and demand to immediately withdraw the FIR.
Arrest all Meira Paibi (Women activists of Manipur) if the government has to arrest the Meira Paibi of some particular area, the woman bodies said.
In connection with the issue a joint press conference of All Manipur Womens’ Voluntary Association (AMAWOVA) and Poirei Leimarol Meirapaibi Apunba Manipur was conducted Kwakeithel, Imphal West on Friday.
President of AMAWOVA, Y. Kunjarani told reporters that the government, Assam Rifles and central forces should know why the Meira Paibi are raising voice to withdraw central forces from Manipur.
She said the central government has deployed thousands of central forces jawans in the state, since the eruption of Manipur crisis, to control the violence.
However, instead of deploying the central forces at vulnerable areas the forces are trying to deploy at non-vulnerable areas. Deploying of central forces at non-vulnerable areas instead of peripheral vulnerable areas has become the major reason to create tense among the people, she added.
Due to the reason the Meira Paibi are raising voice to remove additional central forces from the state as the central forces have been a mute spectator during the gunfight or violence instead of controlling it, she claimed.
AMAWOVA and Poirei Leimarol Meirapaibi Apunba Manipur strongly condemn the bias action of central forces in the present unrest, said Kunjarani.
The women bodies will consider filing of FIR against 12 particular Meira Paibi of Wangoo Sagang as filing FIR against the entire Meira Paibi of Manipur, she added.
Arrest the entire Meira Paibi of Manipur, she said.
She appealed all the Meira Paibi of Manipur to jointly confront the issue in time. Timely act of Meira Paibi can save Manipur from unwanted bias acts of central forces.
