Security forces continue search operations in violence ridden Manipur

Imphal: During the last 24 hours, the situation in the state was tense but under control with sporadic congregation of protestors, Manipur Police Control Room said on Friday.

Search operations and area domination were conducted by security forces in the fringe and vulnerable areas of Imphal West, Imphal East, Kakching, Thoubal, Kangpokpi, Churachandpur and Bishnupur district.

During the operations one 38mm MSL, four Single barrel Gun, four Improvised Mortar, one ammunition box containing 24 rubber bullets, one Hand Grenade, two Improvised mortar bomb, two Radio sets, six Smoke gas shells and two 9mm Pistols with Magazine were recovered from Churachandpur.

The police control room appeals to general public to return the ‘looted arms, ammunition and explosives’ to the police or nearest security forces immediately.
