Imphal: Security forces have destroyed ’12 bunkers used by Kuki miscreants’ during a mass combing operation at Mother Ridgeline of Leitanpokpi top to Purum Likli Hill in Imphal East district of Manipur, on Saturday.
The security forces compromised of Imphal East Police led by OC, Sagolmang Police station, 16 AR, 18 AR, 22 AR, 32 AR, 37 Bn. BSF, 38 Bn. BSF and 4th Bn. CRPF.
The operation was conducted under the supervision of Dr. S. Ibomcha Singh, SP, Imphal East.
It began at 7 am and concluded at 11:30 am.
Arms and ammunition were found inside a bunker at the western hill slope of Purum Hill towards Gangpijang village, a police report said.
The arms and ammunitions have been seized by Assam Rifle and being handed over to Saikul Pollice station.
The recovered arms and ammunitions were one CMG, nine No 36 hand grenades, 15 Tube launching, 12 Tube launching ring, 12 HD carts, four Grenade Caps, 16 No 36 hand grenade (old), one Grenade key and 36 Mini flare green carts.
