More arms, explosives recovered in conflict ridden Manipur

Imphal: Security forces recovered arms and explosives in continuation of the operation against arms possession in Manipur on Wednesday.

The war-like weapons were recovered during search operations and area domination conducted by security forces in the fringe and vulnerable areas of Imphal East, Imphal West, Kangpokpi and Bishnupur districts.

The recovered weapons were one 7.62mm AK-47 Assault Rifle, one 7.62mm AK-47 Rifle Magazine, two 36 HE Hand Grenades, two 81mm Mortar HE Bombs, three 80 WP Smoke Grenades, one Pt. 22 Pistol, three detonators and seven 7.62mm live rounds.

During the last 24 hours, the situation in the state was tense but under control with sporadic incidents of the congregation of protestors, Manipur Police Control Room said on Wednesday.
