Imphal: Two-day 1st Manipur Red Youth Festival 2023 kicks off on Friday 17th November 2023 at Maharaja Bodhchandra College, Imphal. The festival was inaugurated by Dr. Beema Howdijam, Deputy Director, IEC & Mainstreaming, Manipur State AIDS Control Society in presence of Prof. R.K. Hemanta Singh, Principal, Maharaja Bodhchandra College, Imphal.
On the first day of the festival, school level quiz competition was held. Linthoingambi Soram and Lamnganbi Konsam of TG Higher Secondary School won the 1st prize. Chanyaphi Kaping and Lanya Gachui of Alice Christian Higher Secondary School, Ukhrul won 2nd prize. RK Martina & Naorem Priyalakshmi Chanu of Keishamthong High School and Konjengbam Prity Chanu & Shalu Kolom of JNV Bishnupur won the 3rd and 4th prizes respectively.
Winners get cash prizes and certificates of Rs. 10,000/-, Rs. 8,000/-, Rs. 6,000/- and Rs. 4,000/- respectively. The state winner TG Higher Secondary School will represent Manipur in the North East Regional Quiz Competition.
The festival is jointly organised by Manipur State AIDS Control Society, NSS Units of MB College and RRC MB College.
On the second day of the festival, college level drama and reel making competitions will be held.
