Imphal: Kwakeithel Thounaojam Leikai Makha Nupi Lup (KTLMNL), a local women’s body urged the authorities concerned to stop harassing people of Kwakeithel Thounaojam Leikai area in connection with the investigation of dead of Donngaihching Hangzo however welcome the investigation of CBI.
President of the organisation, Thongam Kombirei speaking to reporters on Thursday at the organisation’s office said, one Donngaihching Hangzo belonging to the Kuki community was shot dead by unknown armed miscreants on July 6 near Sishu Nistha Niketan school which is under the jurisdiction of the locality.
She said the incident occurred under the jurisdiction of the locality, however, she claimed that no person in the locality was involved during the crime.
As a president of KTLMNL, she said, the organisation welcomes the investigation of the crime by CBI, but should stop harassing the people of the locality in the name of investigation.
The investigating agency should also investigate on the missing case of Avinash and Anthony and others who had been missing in connection with the present crisis, she added.
Manipur has been in chaos since the Kuki-Meitei conflict erupted on May 3, the day the Kukis launched attacks to the Meitei community.
