Imphal: Manipur’s Thoubal district deputy commissioner Ahanthem Subhash Singh, on Tuesday said the district administration is providing typing facilities at six Affidavit Execution Centres to facilitate the filing of affidavits by the public free of cost pertaining to the Commission of Inquiry appointed by the central government to conduct an inquiry into various aspects of violence in Manipur that took place on and after May 3.
An order was issued on November 22, the deputy commissioner said.
The Commission of Inquiry (Manipur Violence), 2023 had issued a Public Notice on November 20 inviting people acquainted with the subject matter to furnish their statements, allegations or complaints by way of affidavits within 45 days from the date of the notification, he added.
Public can file affidavit free of cost at Affidavit Executive Centres’ at the relief camps opened at Kodompokpi Sports Complex, Rice Research Centre, Khangabok-Wangbal and Lamding Higher Secondary School. The district administration is also facilitating the filing of affidavits by the public free of cost at district headquarter office, Thoubal sub-divisional office and Lilong sub-divisional office.
The commission has invited all persons acquainted with the subject matter of the inquiry to furnish to the commission their statements by way of affidavits. Complains and allegations can also be made to the commission on affidavit.
