Manipur terror suspect Seiminlun Gangte remanded in NIA custody till Oct 11

Imphal: Additional sessions judge Sachin Gupta remanded Seiminlun Gangte in National Investigation Agency (NIA) custody for eight days till October 11 on a request made by the agency for 10 more days in custody.

Seiminlun Gangte was apprehended for his alleged involvement in the blast case that took place at Kwakta area of Bishnupur district in Manipur on June 21 during the Meitei-Kuki clash.

He was nabbed by a joint team of NIA and Manipur Police on Saturday.

He was brought to Delhi and produced before duty magistrate Komal Garg on Sunday who remanded him in NIA custody for two days.

The NIA had said Seiminlun Gangte was arrested in a case related to a transnational conspiracy by Myanmar and Bangladesh based leadership of terror outfits to wage war against the Government of India by exploiting the current ethnic unrest in Manipur.

The case was registered suo moto by the NIA on September 19 at New Delhi.
