Imphal: Film Forum Manipur staged a sit-in rally decrying for threatening an actor by Assam Rifles who raised his voice in media to solve the present crisis and to bring back normalcy.
Actor and vice-chairman of Film Forum Manipur, Oken Amakcham told reporters during the protest held at Tantha college, Lamphel, Imphal West on Saturday that one of the fraternity of Film Forum Manipur, Maheshwor Thounaojam who is an actor in Manipur film raised his voice regarding the present turmoil in Manipur.
As a representative of the film fraternity, he raised his voice of the present situation of the state to bring back normalcy in Manipur by meeting central leaders including Union Home minister, Amit Shah, he added.
On elaborating the bias act of Assam Rifles, he was threatened by the Assam Rifles by issuing legal notice against him, the film personality said.
He appealed the Assam Rifles to withdraw the legal notice immediately and appealed both state and central government to bring a solution of the present crisis.
Similar protest was seen demonstrated at various parts of the state.
Meira paibies of various localities including Khagempalli Huidrom Leikai along Mayai Lambi and others were seen demonstrating the protest demanding to withdraw the legal notice served against Maheshwar Thounaojam.
