Imphal: Manipur governor Anusuiya Uikey appealed all to come together with an open mind and work for resolving the Meitei-Kuki conflict to re-establish the state’s tradition of peaceful co-existence.
The governor appeals to the people of Manipur not to move towards the path of violence, ignore rumours, respect each others’ views and help affected people suffering from this crisis.
Uikey was addressing at the launch programme of the state level Ayushman Bhavah Campaign held at Hotel Classic Grande here on Wednesday, in presence of Health and Family Welfare minister Dr. Sapam Ranjan.
The governor highlighted the initiative taken up by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to ensure that every citizen of India receives good medical facilities and no person should be left out for receiving medical treatment and healthcare facilities through Ayushman Bhavah campaign.
Stating that India’s goal of universal health coverage will be possible only when every citizen of every village in the country will have access to medical facility, she informed the main focus of this campaign is to increase awareness about various health schemes and to ensure that the benefits of these schemes reaches every citizen till the last mile of the country. Health cards will also be provided to eligible beneficiaries of the Ayushman Bharat scheme as a part of the campaign, she added.
Many programs like Ayushman Aapke Dwar, Ayushman Sabha, Ayushman Mela, School Children Screening and Ayushman Gram are some of the activities planned, she informed.
She lauded the tireless efforts being made by the concerned health department especially for the poor and needy people and urged for continuing their services in the future too.
She mentioned the contribution extended by the Health department during this ongoing strife led by minister Ranjan in ensuring proper medical facilities for the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) taking refuge in various relief camps spread across the state. She reiterates the initiative of the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) in providing relief materials for the IDPs after her intervention during the IRCS Convention held in New Delhi in July.
Ranjan highlighted the importance of this campaign launch nationwide by President Droupadi Murmu. He informed that under Ayushman Aapke Dwar, registration of eligible families will be done for Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana and health cards will be issued to these families. Under the Ayushman Sabha programme, awareness activities regarding health, hygiene and nutrition will be organized at the village level. He said the departments are continuously coordinating in the various relief camps to ensure that no patient will be deprived of availing medical facilities.
As part of the occasion, the governor led in the pledge for organ donation and she handed over Award to Nikshay Mitra awardees.
