Imphal: Lainingthou Sanamahi Temple Board on Saturday launched month long programme to pay tribute to the martyred soul who lost their lives during the Manipur crisis at its complex at Hayingkhongbal near 1st Manipur Rifles Battalion campus, here.
The programme will be continued in the whole month of ‘Langban’ Meitei lunar month.
On the first day of the programme flowers and fruits were offered to the portraits of 56 persons who lost their lives during the present turmoil.
Family members of the victims and others participated in the ritual event.
Member secretary of Lainingthou Sanamahi Temple Board, Maisnam Shivadutta Luwang said, for every year starting from ‘Purnima’ (full moon) of ‘Langban’ similar programme has been organizing in the temple. After consulting with the scholars of the temple, the board decided to organize the programme for the whole month of ‘Langban’.
He appealed the people of Manipur to cooperate each other for Manipur Integrity.
He wished for an end to the crisis and to bring back normalcy.
