Global Manipur Federation demands Justice for murdered Meitei teens

Imphal: The Global Manipur Federation (GMF) mourns the tragic news of the deaths of two teenagers, Hijam Linthoingambi, 17, and Phijam Hemjit, 20, who had been missing since July 6.

GMF emphatically demands swift and unwavering justice for the brutal murders of these two young lives.

As revealed news report, we are disheartened by the distressing image: “behind them, two armed men are clearly visible.”This brutal murder of two Meitei teenagers serves as yet another stark reminder of the relentless violence inflicted by Chin-Kuki-Zo militants, said GMF.

This killing comes close on the heels of other alleged inhumane killing of Lrengbam Chingkheinganba, 26, and Sagolsem Nganleiba, 33, by suspected Kuki militants on July 4.

“We anxiously await the country’s response to this devastating incident, mirroring the collective outrage witnessed when a heinous naked video emerged.”

GMF said, they are appalled by the characterisation of these tragic deaths as “honour killings,” a disheartening attempt to obscure the truth and perpetuate Kuki Lies.

This ongoing conflict has not only shattered peace but also stripped away the most fundamental and humane act – the ability for families to bury their loved ones. GMF vehemently condemns all forms of violence from both sides and implores the Biren Singh government to take urgent action, bringing an end to this turmoil and restoring peace in the state it said.

“Our heartfelt condolences go out to the families and loved ones of Hijam Linthoingambi and Phijam Hemjit during this extraordinarily challenging time. We stand in unwavering solidarity with the community as we mourn these tragic losses and demand justice.”

GMF, headquartered in Suwon, South Korea, is a global peace advocacy group dedicated to promoting non-violent conflict resolution, dialogue, and cooperation among nations and communities worldwide.

With a mission to create a more harmonious and united world, GMF actively engages in conflict resolution initiatives and humanitarian efforts to alleviate suffering and build a sustainable foundation for peace.
