Imphal: A Senapati district police team of Manipur on Thursday morning apprehended one drug peddler along National Highway-2 near Upper Kathikho Karong, 8Km away from Senapati Police station.
The person was identified as Nolu Pfotokho Khrasi, 27, son of Nolu of Makhan Khullen village, Senapati.
He was apprehended during frisking and checking. The police found 25 soap cases containing suspected Brown Sugar weighing 309 gm in the car driven by drug peddler, concealed inside one iron container.
The police team stopped the car, a white Maruti Suzuki Alto, bearing registration number NL 01CA-7144. The car was moving from Senapati side towards Mao Gate which connects Nagaland.
The car was searched in presence of an executive Magistrate.
The recovered drug, the car, a mobile phone and an Aadhaar card were seized, and the person was arrested.
A cas has been registered at Senapati Police station under NDPS Act, a police report said.
