Imphal: Manipur chief minister N. Biren Singh distributed one-time financial assistance to beneficiaries under Special Scheme for Education of Children of Labour Card Holders staying at Relief Camps on Sunday.
The distribution programme which was held at the chief minister’s secretariat was organized by Manipur Building and Other Construction worker’s Welfare Board. One-time financial assistance of a sum of Rs 5000 was handed over to the beneficiaries by the chief minister.
Biren interacted with the beneficiaries who are currently staying at relief camps and listened to the grievances brought up by them. He informed that the government is taking up all necessary measures for the welfare of the people affected by the recent violence occurred in the state.
Water Resources minister Awangbow Newmai, chairperson, Manipur Building and Other Construction worker’s Welfare Board K. Saratkumar Singh and other officials also attended the programme among others.
Under the special scheme, one-time financial assistance of a sum of Rs 5000 shall be provided for education of children to every family having valid labour card and staying in the relief camps set up by the state government.
