Imphal: Former National MSME Board member, Robin Blackei has sought minister of state for External Affairs RK Ranjan to take up steps rescue Manipuris stranded in the jungle of Myanmar near gate No.2 Moreh town.
Robin in his letter urges the minister for necessary intervention to solve the plight of 230 Manipuri citizen who are stranded to the jungle of Myanmar due to ethnic problem since May 3.
They are the settlers of Moreh township in the Tengnoupal district of Manipur. On May 3 itself, they were compelled to leave their homes because of arson committed by Kuki militants/mob, he informed.
They fled Moreh and rushed to Myanmar jungle and somehow manage to five in the forest land of nearby gate No. 2 areas, he added.
They are somehow living with the aids of Myanmar local people for the three months and now they are living in dire straits. Their stories were carried on newspapers, Robin said.
“As a concerned citizen, I, on behalf of the stranded Meitei citizens would like to request you kindly to take up the matter with the Government of India so that they can be evacuated to a save place in Manipur.”
He asked the minister to rescue the stranded people as early as possible.
