Large arms, ammunitions recovered, 2 arrested in Manipur

Imphal:Security forces recovered seven arms and 111 ammunitions from Churachandpur district during an operations.

The security forces conducted search operations in the fringe and vulnerable areas of Bishnupur, Kakching, Thoubal, Churachandpur and Imphal West districts.

One arm was also recovered arrested two persons for possession of arms in Kangpokpi District during checking.

During the last 24 hours, the situation in the State was tense with sporadic incidents of congregation of protestors, Manipur Police Control Room said.

The three arms and 105 ammunition looted from a house guard at Imphal West by unknown miscreants in the wee hours of Sunday were recovered by the state police after conducting special operations, it added.

A total of 127 Checkpoints were installed in different districts of Manipur, both in the hill and the valley and police detained 1405 persons in connection with violations in different districts of the state, it said.
