CM office clarifies over Fake message on FIR, compensation

Imphal: The chief minister’s office of Manipur has clarified over a fake message that an official spreads information to Manipur crisis affected families to register FIRs for property damage, arson etc., to get compensation.

There is a fake message spreading on social media that an under secretary from the Office of the Chief Minister, Manipur had informed for spreading information to all relief camps and affected families to come forward and register FIRs for property damage, arson etc. and that in the absence of FIRs any compensation will be difficult, said a clarification made by P. Gojendro, joint secretary to the chief minister, on Monday.

No such message has been released from the office. Any procedural matter related to compensation and relief will be communicated officially from the Home department or the District Administration concerned, the joint secretary said.

He requested the general public to ignore such fake messages, he added.

In another development, the sub-divisional officer, Moreh, Ejaj Hassan, in a notification issued on Monday informed all heads of offices of the government offices, institutions, guest houses, government quarters situated in Moreh sub-division to submit the status report of their premises and damage report along with details of FIRs lodged for any damaged caused by acts of public violence to him by August 31.

The report can be submitted through WhatsApp (9774076187), the SDO said.
