The items included banana stem and inflorescence, bamboo shoots, cabbages, spring onions, pineapples, etc. on Tuesday for the inmates staying at relief camps in the Imphal West District through the office of the deputy commissioner, Imphal West, said Dr. N. Johnson Meetei, additional deputy commissioner, Imphall West on Wednesday.
The items were donated at the relief camps located at Manipur Trade and Expo Centre, Lamboikhonangkhong; THAU Ground Relief Camp, Thangmeiband; and Shyamashakhi Girls High School, Moirangkhom.
The inmates staying at the relief camps expressed deep sense of gratitude for the acts of kindness and help extended to them by the Liangmai community in these times of hardship experienced by the sstate. Such benevolent gestures enhance deep sense of fraternity among the different communities and instil hopes that peace would prevail in the state, the additional deputy commissioner said.
