Governor assures all measures to safeguard educational institutions, trace missing minors

Imphal: Manipur governor Anusuiya Uikey has assured that all measures for safeguarding educational institutions are in place for smooth functioning of classes. 

The governor made the assurance as she met Dr Anupam Mishra, vice-chancellor, Central Agricultural University at Raj Bhavan on Monday. 

Mishra apprised the governor about the students of the university who are affected by the ethnic clash and the present scenario of how the university is functioning in the prevailing law and order situation  of Manipur. 

A team of  Kendra Vidyala teachers, Akhampat, Imphal East headed by Dr Hariom called on the  governor and apprised her about the working conditions of the Vidyalaya and the problems faced by the teachers especially who are based outside of Manipur in the current law and order situation. The governor gave assurances that possible assistance will be extended to them. 

The parents of the missing minors of Patsoi kendra lead by  Patsoi Assembly Constituency  Ex-MLA,  AK Mirabai Devi apprised Uikey, the incidents leading to the disappearance of the two minors on July 6. 

The governor inquired about the disappearance in detail. She expressed her anguish at the incident involving the minors and assured the parents that she will extend all possible help in tracing the missing minors. She also expressed hope that the missing minors are safe and that she offers her prayers for their safety.
