Imphal: An eighteen years old boy succumbed and one injured in a fresh gunfight at Tera Khongsangbi, Bishnupur district on Friday.
The boy was admitted at Raj Medicity. He was injured during Kuki militants bomb attack at Phougakchao.
Sources says the gunfight between Kuki militants and village volunteers along with state commando personnel was continued since early morning of Friday and at around 3.40 pm. The gunfire escalated along with bombs and RPGs from Kuki militants.
The village volunteers and state commando also retaliated the attack while one village volunteers was injured suspected to be from a sniper bullet on his abdomen while two Kuki militants are reported dead.
The Kuki militants reportedly attacked the village volunteers and state forces from Maulngat, Churachandpur district.
The injured were rushed to Raj Medicity for further treatment.
The eighteen years old boy was injured during bomb attack from Kuki militants on Wednesday morning and have been undergoing treatment at Raj Medicity.
Hospital authority said he was succumbed to his injury at the hospital at around 9.38 pm on Thursday.
