Imphal: A person who tried to rob at Bank of Baroda, FCS branch, Sangaiprou on Monday was apprehended by a team of CRPF along with a team of Imphal West Police commando.
The person was identified as Thongam Rinkoo Singh, 40, son of late Thongam Gyaneshor of Kwakeithel Soibam Leikai, Imphal West.
According to police Rinkoo came on one Maruti Alto K10 car bearing registration number MN01X 3558 entered the bank and showed one demand letter written as to co-operate with him and to be silent. He also showed the branch manager one pistol forcing to give him money. During the robbery he also used one sword. The cashier has handed over a sum Rs 5 lakh in Rs 500 denomination as directed by the branch manager during the robbery.
After the commission of crime he was then arrested, police said.
