KSO demands to apprehend twin murder perpetrators

Imphal: Kuki Students Organisation (KSO), Bungpi block has urged the authority to apprehend the alleged perpetrators of the twin murder of Thotreichan Kashung and Naosomi Lungleng of Sinakeithel village.

The student body, condemning the alleged murder of Thotreichan Kashung, 31, son of Mothang Kashung and Naosomi Lungleng, 29, son of late Lightson Lungleng, demanded the investigating team to nab those involved in the murder.

In a statement released on Friday it said any unnatural or suspicious death in a particular community should not be unreasonably interpreted as perpetrated by somebody from the other community.

The student body said different communities should together seek a CBI probe if the need arises for such an inquiry rather than distrusting each other.

The KSO appealed to the two communities of the area to refrain from giving communal tone to the murder but to make a concerted effort and give room for the law to take its own course.

The release said the ‘decomposed bodies’ of the two victims were found on the august 8 at Ihang river bank after a villager of Sinakeithel village who lives nearby came across foul smell emanating from the site.

After the superintendent of police Ukhrul and additional superintendent of police Kangpokpi were pressed into action to nab the murderers, the adjoining Kuki villagers, at the behest of the area civil voluntary organisations have also rendered their full cooperation in the investigation, it added.

KSO assured that the civil voluntary organisations will continue to support the concerned authority in making a concerted effort to solve the murder case.

“Each and every life is precious and we should learn to live in a more cordial relationship to ensure peace and harmony in the area,” the student body said.
