Preshow calls for public cooperation to combat Covid-19 pandemic

Imphal: As a part of the activities carried under ‘Sewa Hi Shangathan-II’ former deputy speaker, MK Preshow Shimray visited 10 villages of Chingai Assembly Constituency on Tuesday and highlighted awareness for mass vaccination.

Preshow said vaccination to prevent from severe impact of Covid-19 is much needed in the entire state. The pandemic could not be controlled if the people of Ukhrul fails to cooperate during the vaccination.

Only through vaccination people in the valley or Imphal area may help control the pandemic from its severe impact. The people of Ukhrul need to take the initiatives to get early vaccination, he added.

The MLA of the Assembly Constituency failed to conduct mass vaccination campaign. He said in an area of the constituency having about 1,000 population hardly 10 people were found vaccinated. The lack of vaccination in the area is due to lack of awareness campaign on Covid-19 vaccination, Preshow said.

He said people should not belief in rumours against vaccination that some people are spreading.

The awareness campaign for mass vaccination was conducted at 10 villages of Chingai assembly constituency including Chingjaroy; Razai Kn; Namrei; Luireishimphung; Ngahui; Kuirei; Kalhang; Nungbi and Longbi Kachui.

During the programme Preshow extended his assistance to the farmers of Chingjaroy villages for supply of water to the paddy fields through 7 HP water pump set during this drought like situation season.

The villagers assured him to get early vaccination immediately and the villagers extend their gratitude towards chief minister N. Biren Singh and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for providing free ration amid pandemic.
