Imphal: Imphal West Police recovered and seized a total of 326 bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) and Distilled Indigenous Country (DIC) liquor along with 199 cane beer during a raid at Sekmai bazaar on Thursday.
The liquor drive has been continuing in the district under the supervision of superintendent of police, Imphal West, S. Ibomcha.
The police recovered the liquors during a raid at one shop βTargetβ at about 11.30 am. The shop was owned by one Soram Thoithoi Singh, 36, son of S. Kala Singh of Sekmai Bazaar.
During the raid the police team recovered 108 bottles of Mc Dowells 750ml; 63 bottles of Mc Dowells 180ml; 13 bottles of Mc Dowells 375ml; 24 bottles of OC Blue 375ml; 24 bottles of Old Monk 750ml; 5 bottles of Old Monk 180ml; 40 bottles of Magic Moment 180 ml; 14 bottles of Zino XXX rum 750ml; 16 canes of Simba cane beer 500 ml; 36 canes of Nutcracker cane beer 500 ml; 12 bottles of Hunter beer 650 ml; 24 canes of Tuborg cane beer 500ml; 24 bottles of Breezer beer 275 ml and 7 canes of Budweiser beer 500 ml.
The police team also recovered 27 bottles of 1 litre capacity and 32 bottles of 500 ml capacity of DIC liquor during the raid.
Thoithoi was detained and seized the alcohols.
The detainee along with the seizures has been handed over to excise department, Lamphel.
