Manipur records Covid-19 positivity rate of 19.1 percent

Imphal: With the confirmation of 839 positives for Covid-19 out of 4,390 test samples results released on Thursday the positivity rate hit 19.1 percent in Manipur.

The gravity was added with 12 Covid-19 related death cases recorded in 24 hours.

The death cases belonged to Imphal West (4), Thoubal (1), Bishnupur (2), Kakching (1), Kangpokpi (1) and Churachandpur (3).

The new positive cases were from Imphal East (155), Imphal West (318), Thoubal (62), Bishnupur (55), Kakching (89), Uldirul (7), Churachandpur (65), Chandel (18), Tamenglong (6), Tengnoupal (2), Pherzawl (13), Kamjong (1), Noney (1) Kangpolcpi (41), CAPF (8).

All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, Manipur Covid-19 common control room said.

“Today, 634 persons were discharged. They are from home isolation (248), RIMS (15), JNIMS (2), CCCs (90) and CHICs (279),” it said.

The cumulative number of deaths is 1,241. The cumulative number of positive cases is 75,180. The number of active cases is 6,727. The recovery rate is 89.40 percent, it added.

In the last 24 hours, a total of 1,716 D-type oxygen cylinders and 477 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities of Manipur.

The number of doses of the Covid-19 vaccine administered on Wednesday was 30,627. The cumulative doses were 8,26,702 (1st dose 7,35,610 and 2nd dose 91,092).
