Imphal: Chandel and Mantripukhri Battalions ofAssam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South) organised a tree plantation drive at villages of Chandel and Imphal East Districts on Monday towards promoting ‘Go Green Initiative’.
The tree plantation drive was conducted with the aim to control the global warming, make environment pollution free and spread awareness on the importance of clean environment.
As part of the initiative, saplings of various types were planted. The villagers were also educated about the importance of trees in maintaining the ecological equilibrium.
