Imphal: In continuation of liquor drive conducted in Imphal West district under the supervision of Superintendent of police, Imphal West, S. Ibomcha, Indian Mande Foreign Liquor (IMFL) and Distilled Indigenous Liquor (DIC) seized from Sekmai Tispari near Gas bottling plant on Sunday evening.
The liquors were seized from the possession of Suraj Baniya, 33, son fo Ganga Ram Baniya of Larang Part II, Sekmai Tispari and Rebika Rai, 34, wife of Biyay Rai of Tispari, Sekmai.
The police team of district commando led by sub-inspector, Ch. Surjit Kumar assisted by jamandar, A. Sadananda detected three bottles of OC Blue(750 ml); 19 bottles of Mc Dowel No.1 (180ml); 15 bottles of OC Blue (180ml); 10 bottles of Zino XXX Rum (750ml); 8 bottles of OC Blue (375ml); 8 Tuborg beer can (500ml); 21 Kingfisher beer can (500ml) and 40 litres of DIC liquors packed at 1 litre bottle each.
The two persons were detained and handed over to excise department, Sekmai along with the seizures.
