Imphal: A least 41 percent of the eligible population in Imphal East district has received Covid-19 vaccine under the initiatives of state government’s mass vaccination drive so far.
Officer-in-charge district vaccination team, Imphal East, Pooja Elangbam visited the vaccination site at Irilbung Government High School, Irilbung.
Pooja said in the district apart from vaccination centres opened at hospitals there are 25 vaccination centres opened at various primary health centres, community health centres and at some places with the assistance of local club volunteers.
In the district there are about three lakh population. She appealed the people to come forward for vaccination in order to make it 100 per cent.
In the entire Manipur a total of 6,17,308 have received Covid vaccination and out of which 5,34,103 have received 1st dose and 83,205 received 2nd dose.
With the vaccination of 1,65,547 Imphal West district recorded highest vaccination followed by Imphal East district with 1,29,291 vaccination.
