Imphal: All Manipur VDF (Village Defence Force) Welfare Association has donated a sum of Rs 28,47,466 to the Chief Minister’s Covid-19 Relief Fund.
“I’m thankful to the All Manipur VDF Welfare Association for donating their one-day honorarium/wages, amounting to a sum of Rs 28,47,466/- (Rupees Twenty Eight Lakh Forty Seven Thousand Four Hundred and Sixty-Six), to the Chief Minister’s Covid-19 Relief Fund,” chief minister N. Biren Singh posts on his Facebook wall.
The VDF personnel have been on the frontline ever since the pandemic broke out in Manipur. Not only have they done a terrific job but also coming out to contribute financially is truly an altruistic act, Biren said.
