Manipur records highest single day spike of 433 Covid-19 positive cases, two expired

Imphal: Manipur on Tuesday recorded highest single day spike of 433 Covid-19 positive cases while two Covid patients expired.

The positive cases belonged to Imphal East (108), Imphal West (183), Thoubal (17), Bishnupur (26), Kakching (35), Ukhrul (5), Churachandpur (42), Tengnoupal (1), Tamenglong (6), Senapati (3), ICangpokpi (1), Jiribam (3) Kamjong (2) and CAPF (1).

All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, state Covid-19 common control room said, on Tuesday evening.

It said in the last 24 hours, two persons aged 58 years (male, Thoubal) and 45 years (male, Bishnupur) expired at JNIMS (2) hospital. The cumulative number of deaths is 424, it added.

A totally of 111 Covid patients were discharged from CAPF (4), home isolation (87), RIMS (4), JNIMS (9), RAJMED (1) and SHRI (6).

The cumulative number of positive cases has climbed to 32,956, the active cases is 2391. The recovery rate has decreased to 91.45 percent.

In the last 24 hours, a total of 659 D-type oxygen cylinders and 176 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur, the control room said.

Air passengers who travelled to the state on May 2 by Indigo flight 6181 in rows 11-17 are to inform the Common Covid Control Room 1800-345-3818 or respective district surveillance officers for further surveillance and necessary testing, it added.

As on Tuesday no air passenger was found positive for Covid-19 when tasted 38 passengers at Imphal airport.

So far 221983 persons have been vaccinated in the state.
