Imphal: Covid-19 took 20 lives infecting 624 new persons alarming the people of Manipur in another 24 hours.
However 337 persons were recovered and discharged. The recovery rate was 82.26 percent.
The death cases belonged to Imphal East (9), Imphal West (5), Churachandpur (2), Kakching (1), Senapati (1), Thoubal (1) and Ukhrul (1).
The cumulative number of deaths has risen to 612.
The positive cases were from Imphal East (129), Imphal West (270), Thoubal (43), Bishnupur (67), Kakching (32), Ukhrul (7), Churachandpur (43), Chandel (18), Senapati (3), Tamenglong (2), Teng,noupal (2), Kangpokpi (2), Noney (4) and Pherzawl (2).
The number of active cases rose to 6605.
In the last 24 hours, a total of 1364 D-type oxygen cylinders and 521 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur, Covid-19 common control room said.
Air passengers who travelled to Manipur on May 14 by Air India AI-715 in rows 8-14 are to inform the Common Covid Control Room 1800-345-3818 or respective DSO for further surveillance and necessary testing, it added.
