Imphal: Manipur government on Monday announced to commence month-long summer vacation for schools in the state for the current academic session on first day of May to last till May end.
The summer vacation was declared in view of the current surge in the number of Covid positive cases in the state in the wake of second wave of Covid -19 pandemic and in order to avoid any kind of unwanted consequences likely to occur in the near future and to allay the fear and apprehensions among the students, teaching community, parents/guardians and all concerned stakeholders and taking into consideration all relevant aspects related to Covid-19 wave and after a thorough consideration of the prevailing situation.
The summer vacation is applied to all government, aided and private Schools, etc., affiliated to Board of Secondary Education, Manipur and Council of Higher Secondary Education, Manipur.
All heads of institutions shall make an arrangement for detailing at least 4/5 staff by making an appropriate a daily roster of these 4/5 staff (teaching and non-teaching) and ensure their attendance in the Institutions and to render unavoidable official duties during the period of vacation, the announcement by education (S) department said.
All concerned authorities of the institutions were advised to ensure that necessary arrangement/ preparations are made for commencement/ resumption of online teaching/ learning exercise on re-opening of classes after the summer vacation or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
