Covid-19 kills 5, infected 146

Imphal: Five Covid-19 patient succumbed while 146 persons including central security personnel were confirmed as fresh Covid cases in 24 hours (Sunday 4 pm-Monday 4pm) in Manipur bringing up the active case tally to 910.

The expired victims were patients of 57 years (male, Imphal East), 53 years (female, Thoubal), 35 years (male, Churachandpur), 75 years (male, Imphal East) and 53 years (male, Imphal West). They expired at JNIMS (4) and RIMS Hospital (1) respectively.

The cumulative number of deaths is 390, state Covid-19 common control room said.

The fresh cases from general population belonged Imphal East (42), Imphal West (70), Thoubal (4), Bishnupur (4), Kakching (5), Ukhrul (11), Kangpokpi (4) and Chandel (1). All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.

A total of 36 persons were discharged from home isolation (20), JNIMS (7), RIMS (7) and SHRI (2).

The cumulative number of positive cases is 30,567 and the recovery rate is 95.74 percent, the control room said.

Seven air passengers were found positive in Imphal when tested 21 passengers. The cumulative positive air passengers has reached 96.

Air passengers who travelled to the state on April 19 by Indigo Flight 6E-2251 in rows 21-27 April 21 by Air India Flight AI-3713 in rows 12-18 and on April 24 by Indigo Flight 6E-2615 in rows 22-28, 6E-2251 in rows 13-19, Air India Flight A1-3713 in rows 1-4, 9-22 are to inform the Common Covid Control Room 18003453818 or respective district surveillance officers immediately, it added.

As per the latest information 130979 have been vaccinated against the contagion.
