Imphal: Deputy commissioner of Imphal East district on Friday issued order on regulations for shops and markets in the district following the announcement of Greater Imphal as Covid-19 containment zone.
In view of the surge in Covid- 19 cases in the state particularly within the revenue district of Imphal East the regulation of shops and markets in the district was announced with immediate effect.
Shops located at Hata, Tribal Market in New Lambulane, Lamlong, Konung Mamang, Andro parking, Khongnang Ani Karak, Sangakpham, Kongba, Yaingangpokpi, Lamlai, Yairipok Wad turning, Lairnanai Thong Makhong, Sawombung bazar, Koirergei, Pangei and Mantripukhri to be opened on rotation at the rate of one in three shops with immediate effect, the order said.
Number of vendors along the stretch of Hatta, Lamlong, Andro Parking, Dingku Road, Konung Marnang is restricted to one third of the maximum capacity of the market concerned with due observance of Covid appropriate behavior, it added.
This order shall remain in force until further orders, Imphal East deputy commissioner in-charge Shamim Ahmad Shah said.
Imphal East recorded 77 Covid-19 positive cases and two Covid related deaths on Thursday.
